The Department of Justice Canada-funded program offers service to anyone in Ontario who was or is sexually harassed at work regardless of income or location Sexual Harassment Advice Prevention and Education (SHAPE) provides free legal education and advice to workers- “Many people who contact us aren’t sure where to draw the line regarding whether what they’ve experienced is actually sexual harassment,” says Deirdre McDade, staff lawyer at the Community Advocacy and Legal Centre (CALC) in Belleville. She further states, “There is a spectrum of behaviour that can be considered sexual harassment including visual harassment, such as posting/ sharing sexual images or sending obscene emails or texts; verbal harassment, such as rude or insulting language, not taking no for an answer or calling people sex-specific derogatory names; and physical harassment, such as sexual gestures, staring, unnecessary physical contact and hugs or kissing.”
